Four Appointed to First American New York Board of Directors
First American Title Insurance Company of New York, a provider of real estate information and services in New York State, has named four new members to its Board of Directors.
All four of the new directors ? Michael J. Berey, Bruce J. Clay, Thomas N. DeCaro and Martin H. Kornheiser ? currently hold key positions in the company’s corporate structure.
Berey, senior underwriting counsel, has been with the company since 1994 and has 22 years of experience in title insurance. He has been admitted to the New York and Massachusetts state bar associations and is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
Clay is a senior vice president for First American Title Insurance Company of New York. His current responsibilities include business development, coordinating the New York marketing effort for the recently introduced International Policy and expanding the First American brand into upstate New York.
DeCaro, senior vice president and regional manager, joined the company in 1998. He supervises the comapny’s Hudson Valley Region, a territory that covers the New York counties of Bronx, Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Oregon.
Kornheiser, senior vice president and sales manager, initially joined the company in 1973 as vice president for the New York operation and national sales. In 1983, he was co-founder of Creative Abstract Services Corp., which merged with Preferred Land Title Services and was acquired by First American in 1992.
Their appointments expand the size of the Board of Directors to 12 members.
