Company launches community-wide raffle as part of $300,000 fundraising goal.
RISMEDIA, July 10?Coldwell Banker Northern California, the region’s leading provider of real estate services, announced today it will sponsor the construction of five Habitat for Humanity homes in the region this summer as part of a $300,000 fundraising effort.

For the past three years, the Northern California region of Coldwell Banker has been honored by Habitat for Humanity with the “Golden Hammer Award” for raising the most money of any Coldwell Banker organization in the world. Coldwell Banker is the only national real estate firm to embrace Habitat for Humanity as its official corporate charity.

This year’s Coldwell Banker Northern California campaign is titled, “Take the Habitat Challenge?Outbuild, Outraise and Outgive,” and features a light-hearted Habitat “Survivor Island” theme.

“Coldwell Banker’s sales associates, staff and managers believe deeply in the mission of Habitat for Humanity, and that’s why they work so hard on this grassroots fundraising effort,” says Avram Goldman, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Northern California. “Our people are committed to helping fight poverty and making the dream of home ownership a reality for families throughout our communities.”

The company has funded and built numerous Habitat homes since the beginning of its affiliation with the non-profit organization in 1993. In Northern California alone, Coldwell Banker has raised more than $100,000 for local Habitat for Humanity chapters including Mt. Diablo, Silicon Valley, El Dorado County, San Francisco and the Peninsula.

The five Habitat for Humanity homes being sponsored by Coldwell Banker will be built in the five Northern California regions in which the company provides service: Sacramento, the South Bay (Los Gatos), Monterey, East Contra Costa County (Pittsburg) & the Peninsula (Redwood City). More than 500 Coldwell Banker sales associates, managers and staff will participate in the construction.

Coldwell Banker’s 2002 Habitat for Humanity fundraising goal is $300,000. The organization intends to raise money through community-wide raffle ticket sales. Tickets are $2.00 each. Among the over 25 raffle prizes is a weekend stay at Pajaro Dunes in Monterey, a weekend stay at San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel, a San Jose Sharks autographed hockey stick and tickets to the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts donated by various local businesses and organizations. The fundraising campaign is running now through Aug. 2. Winners will be announced Aug. 8.

The public is invited to participate in the fundraising campaign and raffle. Funds raised through this year’s fundraising campaign will be donated to local Habitat for Humanity home construction for 2003. The company’s ultimate goal is to raise enough money to build a Habitat for Humanity home in each of its six regions throughout Northern California.

The award, presented at the annual Coldwell Banker International Business Conference, honors companies, and sales associates alike, for their charitable efforts.
