Maine Broker Joins Coldwell Banker Residential
RISMEDIA, Sept. 18 — Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher, a six-office firm in southern Maine, is joining forces with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, one of the largest real estate services organizations in New England. For Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, this is the third such announcement in the past week and the second in Maine.
“We are delighted to welcome the talented real estate professionals from Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher into our organization,” says Jim McKeon, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern New England, which will now have 24 offices and more than 550 sales associates in Maine and New Hampshire. “Both companies share similar ideals and values. For us, it’s all about delivering exceptional service to our customers while helping people realize the American dream of homeownership.”
Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher has a 50-year heritage in Portland and southern Maine real estate. For the past 12 years, the company has been the No. 1 Coldwell Banker affiliate in Maine. With six offices and 104 sales associates, Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher had sales volume of $246 million and gross commission income of $7.5 million last year. Ernest Whitehouse, president and owner of Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher, will remain with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in a consultative role.
“This move offers our sales associates the best of both worlds,” says Whitehouse. “We’re joining New England’s leading real estate company, an organization that is backed by the world-class resources of NRT. Most importantly, we are retaining our brand identity as part of the Coldwell Banker global network of real estate professionals.”
On Sept. 12, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced mergers with two other independently owned Coldwell Banker affiliates. Coldwell Banker Gleason Real Estate, located in Brunswick, Maine, also joined the Northern New England company, while Coldwell Banker Gold, Realtors in Barrington, R.I., became part of the Southern New England company for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was formed by the merger of operations of The DeWolfe Companies, Inc. and Coldwell Banker Hunneman in September 2002. With more than 5,500 sales associates and employees in more than 160 office locations, the organization serves consumers throughout New England.
On a combined basis, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage accounted for more than $14 billion in closed sales volume and over 46,000 closed transaction sides in 2001.
