Steve Morris, CEO and founder of Exit Realty Corp. chose the name for his company based on the idea that the “exit” sign is the most highly viewed word in North America. There are over one trillion exit signs on the continent.
Morris and his team are behind a movement in the U.S. and Canada to change the letters on exit signs from red to green (Exit Realty?s letters are teal). They have raised the issue that people associate red with “stop” and green with “go,” therefore the signs should be green so people associate movement through exit ways. So far signs have been changed in Arizona and some in Canada, he says.
