Will promote homeownership among Hispanics
RISMEDIA, March 24-The National Hispanic Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association (NHMBBA) has been formed to assist federal officials and all other organizations to promote Hispanic minority homeownership initiatives through informing and disseminating to the real estate industry mortgage professionals mandates, education and programs directed at the minority Hispanic market.

CEO/Chairman of the Board and founder Gilbert D. Martinez has served in the financial, broker, mortgage banking and banking industry for over 23 years. “There are non-Hispanic mortgage broker and banking associations but I am not aware of a Hispanic mortgage or banking organization focused on direct sources of mortgage funds and programs,” states Martinez.

Martinez currently holds a management position with a national banking institution and is also the Deputy Mayor of Corinth, Texas. “I have served on several volunteer organizations and boards, NHMBBA is an accumulation of my past and present services combined with my everyday profession. NHMBBA will serve a vast growing segment of our population, the Hispanic community, increased minority homeownership serves to stabilize and empower this community. NHMBBA is the organization and vehicle to best positively serve and provide outreach, on a national level,? Martinez said.

Homeownership is a cornerstone of America and has proven to benefit individual families by helping them build stability and long-term financial security. President Bush has issued the “American’s Home Ownership Challenge” to help increase the number of minority homeowners, by 5.5 million families by the end of this decade, and he is asking that the private sector and organizations get involved.
