Audio tours load quickly, providing buyers with immediate information
RISMEDIA, March 4-The tri-state consortium of Prudential California Realty, Prudential Nevada Realty and Prudential Texas Properties have launched TalkingTour, the first online audio tour of home listings. TalkingTour is available to consumers on www.prurealty.com, the company’s consumer Web site.

The company has an exclusive agreement to offer the TalkingTour service in its market areas, by developer Home Sweet Home. The service is offered free of charge to agents.

TalkingTour provides buyers with a 30-60 second audio tour of the company’s listings, accompanied by multiple photos and a written narrative about the home. Audio tours are automatically created for any listing that that has two or more property photographs included with the listing.

“Consumers want information on listings quickly, and on a dial-up connection, each photograph in a virtual tour can take up to three minutes to load, compared to about 25 seconds for a TalkingTour,” said Ed Krafchow, president of the tri-state consortium. “Buyers with slower Internet connections get frustrated and rarely finish a virtual tour. With TalkingTour, there’s no wait, so buyers get immediate information.”

TalkingTour, was released as part of a larger upgrade of the company’s Intranet, The WebTop. Other recent upgrades to The Webtop include: mailing list creation capabilities, MLS mapping functionality, a virtual marketing department, and PDA synchronization.

WebTop, which formerly was proprietary to the company, is now available to other brokerages throughout the country. The company explains that this enables brokers to forgo the expense and time of building their own platforms, and adopt a proven system.
