Former Yahoo! product strategist joins Trulia.com as VP of product management
RISMEDIA, June 1, 2006?Trulia.com, the residential real estate search engine, announces the addition of key players to its management team during the first half of 2006. The newest addition to the executive team is Jamie Glenn, a long-term driver of real estate and classifieds product strategy at Yahoo!, who will be assuming responsibility as vice president of product management at Trulia.
Glenn’s move to Trulia is indicative of the increasing importance vertical search is playing in consumers’ home listings property search.
“Consumers have embraced the Internet as a critical tool in their home search process and are now turning to vertical search sites to help guide them. Likewise, brokers understand there is an evolution taking place in online search and they want to be part of it,” explains Glenn. “I’m excited to apply my real estate experience at one of the world’s top search engines to developing innovative new products at Trulia that support the home search experience for consumers and brokers.”
Glenn joins Kelly Roark, vice president of industry development, who made the move to Trulia at the beginning of 2006 after serving as vice president of sales and marketing for real estate media leader Inman News and its Real Estate Connect conferences. Also part of the management group is Sean Black, vice president of east coast operations, previously a vice president and top-performing broker at the Corcoran Group real estate brokerage in Manhattan.
“To succeed in this business we recognize that we need to build a world-class team with a unique mix of real estate industry knowledge, marketing, technology and operational experience,” explains Trulia CEO and co-founder, Pete Flint. “We are delighted to have Jamie, Kelly and Sean as part of Trulia to build the most relevant, innovative products and services for brokers, agents and consumers alike.”
“The fact that we’re able to attract talent from such well respected real estate institutions is testimony to the Trulia value proposition: create the most direct, efficient connection between home buyers and listing brokers and agents, which are the richest source of property information,” adds COO and fellow co-founder Sami Inkinen.
“Our business is about delivering an unsurpassed consumer experience with the best value and service to real estate professionals in their marketing activity. Complementing our team with these new hires allows us to help execute on this strategy.”
