RISMEDIA, September 8, 2006?Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., the franchise arm of Weichert, Realtors, has announced the signing of its 250th franchise office. The company launched its first independently owned and operated franchise office in January 2002 and now claims more than 5,400 affiliated sales associates in 23 states.

Affiliate growth has accelerated to the point that no sooner do we reach a milestone, than we steam past it. This confirms for us that independent brokers are hungry for a franchise model that is not brand-based, but instead offers a proven business model ? one with precisely defined operating systems that these franchise owners can immediately implement to transform their business.

The first seven months of the year saw the Weichert franchise organization consolidate its strength up and down the East Coast, increase its visibility in the middle third of the country, and advance to the West Coast with the recent signing of its first franchise in California.

As of August 1, more than double the number of franchise offices had signed on with Weichert compared to the same period of the previous year ? a vastly increased pace that Rueter said ?is right in line with our admittedly ambitious projections. Explosive growth was seen in Florida, which is now served by a total of 70 Weichert franchise offices.
