Sales associates and employees of Diane Turton, Realtors support charity as Thanksgiving nears

RISMEDIA, November 21, 2006?With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Diane Turton, president and broker/owner of New Jersey-based Diane Turton, Realtors, and her sales associates and staff joined forces to support the FoodBank?s food drive by donating over 100 turkeys along with hundreds of pounds of non-perishable foods to provide those in need with a complete Thanksgiving meal.

?We’re getting into the holiday spirit by donating food to those who do not have enough to eat,? said Turton. I am gratified and proud about the efforts our sales associates made by coming together to make a collective contribution to this very worthwhile cause so that even the neediest can enjoy a good meal this Thanksgiving.

In addition to donating food themselves, Diane Turton, Realtors is also collecting donations on behalf of the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for those in need throughout the holiday season. Frozen turkeys, as well as other food and monetary donations, can be brought to the company?s Middletown office at 600 Highway 35, located at the intersection of Route 35 South and Apple Farm Road, and the Spring Lake office located at 1216 Third Avenue. Non-perishable food can be brought to Diane Turton, Realtors? Point Pleasant office located at 2204 Bridge Avenue or at the Surf City office on 2017 Long Beach Boulevard on Long Beach Island. All Diane Turton, Realtors? offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.

All contributions will be distributed to 260 charities that run food pantries, elder care facilities, soup kitchens, childcare centers or halfway houses, all of which feed people in need.

Susan M. Kelly, executive director of the FoodBank, said, ?We are extremely grateful to Diane Turton for organizing the food drive within her offices and allowing us to use her sales offices as food drop-off sites again this holiday season. Diane Turton and her team have been very helpful in assisting us in getting the word out regarding the food needs of so many in our communities.

Turton added, ?There is still time to drop a turkey off at our Middletown or Spring Lake offices or non-perishables at our Point Pleasant and Surf City offices. These donations are appreciated by those in need throughout the holiday season.

For many years Turton has worked closely with the FoodBank, who selected her as its ?Humanitarian of the Year? in 2004. The organization distributes food through a network of charities on the Jersey Shore that includes food pantries, care centers for children and seniors, soup kitchens and shelters for the homeless. The FoodBank turns to private citizens and companies to help donate non-perishable food items as well as monetary contributions that are used to purchase large quantities of canned and dry foods.
