Real estate negotiation skills a must for all home buyers/sellers, especially in current market

RISMEDIA, November 22, 2006? Keller Williams Realty Southeast Valley (KWSEV) now has Arizona’s largest number of Certified Negotiation Expert? (CNE) Realtors?, a designation achieved by real estate professionals who have successfully completed formal training in the art of negotiation. Nineteen KWSEV agents earned the status in mid-November, the highest number in any Arizona real estate office, according to the company that bestows the designation.

?As the market transitions from a seller’s to a buyer’s market, home sales become more complicated and negotiation skills are absolutely critical,’ says KWSEV General Manager Jeff Sutherlin. By providing our agents with these essential skills, our buyers benefit by receiving the most value for their investment and our sellers receive an optimal return on their property to produce win-win outcomes in every transaction.?

The following KWSEV agents received their Certified Negotiation Expert designation:

Dawn Bahr, Dave Dion, Joseph Galante (broker), John DeRozieres, Clara Femiani, Mitzie Cordes Heydt, Jane Hall, Scott Kiburz, Susan Mays, Faith Pagdon, David Redding, Michelle Shelton, Phil Ulrich, Alicia Kahn, Cheryl Lindblom, Ellen Miller, Robert Palmer, Kelly Rossi, and Elaine Sans Souci.

Because the real estate industry is based on negotiation, skilled agents obtain better results for their clients. CNE agents have a powerful competitive edge because of their ability to uncover information effectively, get more and give less during sales/purchase negotiations, and retain control over desired outcomes.

Sponsored by KWSEV as a part of their commitment to providing the best ongoing training program for their agents, the certification training was provided by Tom Hayman, president of Negotiation Expertise, a negotiation training and coaching company. Hayman is a professional negotiator with 35+ years experience, including more than 25 years with Procter and Gamble, a Fortune 50 company, teaching negotiation expertise to corporate leaders worldwide. He has a bachelor’s of science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, a master’s degree from the University of Southern California, and has studied at Harvard University, The Wharton School, Stanford University and Oxford University. Haymen is a certified relocation specialist and a licensed real estate agent in Arizona.

?Less than 1 percent of all agents earn their CNE designation, and KWSEV has more of them in one office than any other realty in Arizona. They encourage negotiation skills training for all their agents because it is truly the fulcrum of the transaction,’ stated Hayman. I enjoy working with KW agents because their impressive culture of continual learning mirrors my own philosophy of learning for life.?
