Grant to keep Indianapolis area ?vibrant and attractive?
RISMEDIA, November 28, 2006?(MCT)?Four neighborhood groups will share $100,000 in grants from a new community investment program started by the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.
The Realtors trade group was scheduled to award the money today in a ceremony at the recreation center at Brookside Park, 3500 Brookside Parkway, S. Drive.
The grant program was set up to aid in keeping the Indianapolis area “vibrant and attractive,” Steve Sullivan, chief executive of the Realtors group, said in a statement. “Realtors want to ensure that our region has a healthy housing market and, in turn, healthy communities.”
Recipients are:
Great Indy Neighborhoods Initiative, $60,000.
Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, $20,000.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, $10,000.
Boone County Neighborhood Housing Services, $10,000.
The Realtors group said the next round of grants under the program will be worth $50,000. Applications are due in January, and the money will be awarded in March.
