Patricia Bentley of Houlihan /Lawrence receives industry recognition

RISMEDIA, December 5, 2006?Patricia Bentley of Houlihan Lawrence has been named ?Realtor of the Year? for 2006 by the Westchester County Board of Realtors (WCBR). Bentley is a 21 year veteran of the residential real estate industry and is currently the Compliance Officer for Houlihan Lawrence. Darryl Selsey, Chair of the Awards Committee for the Westchester County Board of Realtors, made the announcement.

?Houlihan Lawrence prides itself on the excellence of its people, and we are delighted that Pat?s outstanding accomplishments were recognized by the Board,? said Stephen Meyers, chief executive officer of Houlihan Lawrence.

Bentley was recognized as ?Realtor of the Year? during the WCBR annual meeting at the County Center in White Plains on November 2. The award will be formally presented to her at the organization?s annual induction dinner on December 13.

Bentley began her real estate career as a sales associate at Bixler Real Estate, a firm later acquired by Coldwell Banker. Her professionalism propelled her through the ranks and she was promoted to office manager at Coldwell?s Katonah location. She joined Houlihan Lawrence in 1994 as office manager of the firm?s Katonah office and is currently the firm?s Compliance Officer.

In addition to her day-to-day activities on behalf of Houlihan Lawrence, Bentley also serves as Director of the WCBR, where she is chair of the Professional Standards Committee and an instructor at the organization?s education center, generating courses in agency, ethics, negotiating, office procedures and compliance.

Additionally, Bentley also plays an integral part within the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR) where she has chaired the Education Management Committee, the Member Services Committee, the Professional Standards Committee and will serve as chair of the Fair Housing and Diversity Committee in 2007. She is also a member of the National Association of Realtors? (NAR) where she sits on the Professional Standards Committee and attends Risk Management Committee meetings.

Bentley obtained her undergraduate degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She earned a Masters at the University of Bridgeport and has pursued doctoral work at the Teacher?s College of Columbia University. She and her husband Richard reside in Pawling, New York.
