RISMEDIA, Jan. 22, 2007-Environmental Data Resources Inc. (EDR) has been recognized for its groundbreaking work in providing corporations and attorneys access to public environmental records with a 2006 Business Achievement Award from Environmental Business International (EBI).

EDR was acknowledged for its creation of EDR OnDemandTM, the first service of its kind to offer the public instant access to customized environmental reports culled from an industry-leading database. EDR has spent more than a decade building its proprietary database, which includes records from hundreds of federal, state and local sources. Keeping the database up-to-date requires the ongoing sorting and updating of millions of public and private records.

The Web-based service was recognized by a panel of editors from EBI's Environmental Business Journal, which bestowed the Business Achievement Award in the IT Merit category to EDR for reducing the complexity, time and expense associated with environmental research. Initially launched in October 2006, EDR OnDemand was immediately welcomed by law firms and corporations who use the service to support environmental financial reporting, due diligence (acquisition and divestiture), vendor audits, site acquisition and other environmental risk management efforts.

This is EDR's second Business Achievement Award. The company won an IT Merit award in 2005 for its efforts to educate the environmental marketplace about a new federal environmental regulation known as the All Appropriate Inquiry rule.

"EDR is thrilled to be selected for this honor a second time," said EDR CEO Rob Barber. "Overwhelmingly, our corporate and legal clients tell us that the biggest challenge they face in conducting environmental research is the amount of time it takes to gather data. Our valuable and unprecedented new service expedites the research process; our clients are reporting significant time and cost savings with EDR OnDemand. To have the service recognized by EBJ is icing on the cake."

The Environmental Business Journal has been published since 1988 by EBI, a publisher of newsletters and comprehensive business reports that provide strategic business information to business leaders. Each year EBI recognizes and awards companies and executives that outperform in the environmental market.

The official awards ceremony will be held Wednesday, February 28 at the Environmental Industry Summit 2007 in San Diego. For more information about the summit, EBJ, and additional award recipients, visit www.ebiusa.com.
