California’s Largest Realtor Association Has New President

RISMEDIA, Jan. 23, 2007-More than 100 Realtors® and industry leaders attended the Pacific West Association of REALTORS® (PWR) swearing in ceremony of the 2007 association president Bill Nelson, officers and board of directors. Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell conducted the Nov. 30 installation ceremony, which also recognized 2006 outgoing president Phil Schaefer for his leadership.

"The induction of PWR's 2007 officers and board members is a great way to end 2006," said Nancy Gilmore, CEO of PWR. "The association is looking forward to working with the 2007 officers and board in order to continue raising public awareness about working with a REALTOR®."

Currently a REALTOR® with Signature Properties of Orange County, Nelson began his real estate career seven years ago after more than 25 years as senior financial manager for ARCO and Southern California Gas Company. He previously served as PWR's secretary/treasurer and as president-elect in 2006. He is also a California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) state director.

The association's 2007 officers are:
• Terry Robertson, Prudential California Realty Norwalk, president-elect
• Hamid Kharrat, Tarbell REALTORS, vice president
• Cheri Kelley, Home Town Realty Norwalk, secretary/treasurer
• Phil Schaefer, Seven Gables Real Estate, immediate past president
