RISMEDIA, Jan. 31, 2007-Hugo C.A. "Skip" Weber Jr. has been elected as the Accredited Seller Representative (ASR) Instructor of the Year for 2006. Weber is the Director of Education for Polley Associates, a RealtyU Affiliate in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. He is a 17-year veteran and current Chairman of the Voluntary Education Advisory Committee to the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission and an Advisory Board member to the National Association of Realtors. In 1991/92 he served as the national President for the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA).
Under his leadership, Polley Associates has trained more agents for the much sought after ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) course and designation than any other education institution in the US. "Now we plan to also become the largest trainer for the very popular ASR (Accredited Seller Representative) course and designation," Weber said.
According to Thomas Mitchell, senior vice president of the Seller Agency Council, "Weber is already rapidly on his way to achieve that goal. During the last quarter of 2006 he delivered a large number of classes. His commitment and dedication to helping agents gain a complete understanding of the real estate transaction from the perspective of both buyer and seller agency is an example to us all, and the Seller Agency Council is honored to bestow its 2006 ASR Instructor of the Year Award to Skip Weber," Mitchell added.
The need for a course focusing on seller agency was identified by Joe Kennedy in the last 1990s and through his vision the popular ASR designation was born. It became the first two-day designation course to focus exclusively on seller representation and help agents sharpen the skills required to position the seller's agent as a true market area specialist while focusing on managing buyer agent tactics. Today the Seller Agency Council and the ASR designation course are part of the large RealtyU Group of career development companies and are available through its network of real estate schools across the country as well as many state and local REALTOR® Associations.
