Coldwell Banker Diamond, Realtors Launches Mobile Search for Real Estate

RISMEDIA, March 9, 2007-Coldwell Banker Diamond, Realtors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has just launched the industry's only mobile text messaging real estate search tool- MobileAgent. Home buyers can now access information on over 40,000 active listings in the Philadelphia metro area using their cell phones. The capabilities of MobileAgent allow the broker to provide superior service to their customers with "Diamond Curbside Service."

The number of text messages sent every month in the U.S. well-exceeds 12 billion, based on the latest data from the CTIA.

According to Real Estate magazine, "Dave Geipel and Mark Ford, of CellSigns, Inc. are onto big things with newly released MobileAgent."

The service brings the MLS to the cell phone. Through partnerships with brokers like Coldwell Banker Diamond, the MobileAgent system allows buyers to access property information on all active listings, search for homes by street address or neighborhood and then schedule a showing all within seconds.

With more focus being placed on serving the needs of the next generation of home buyers, connecting with this group requires giving them tools for immediate access to information and instant communication. The Gen X and Y home buyer group makes up almost 100 million consumers or just over 40% of the population and has grown up with computers since elementary school.

According to Bernice Ross, real estate author and national speaker, "when you contact members of Gen X and Gen Y, you had better text message."

CellSigns' MobileAgent bridges the time and communication gap between agent and buyer. The home buyer is able to do it all with a cell phone. Buyers get information when they want it. Agents are immediately notified, via a text message, of their buyer's interest in a property.

Text messaging is the most popular feature on the cell phone next to making calls. It has seen the largest consumer adoption compared to other mobile solutions like mobile Internet, WAP or smartphone-dependant tools.

"The mobile strategy for companies targeting the consumer is clear; if your strategy or solution doesn't include text messaging, it isn't a mobile strategy," says Mark Ford CEO, CellSigns. "The text message search tool we provide is the only solution that maintains connectivity with the agent and buyer throughout the home search process. It isn't just about the right mobile technology, it is also about maintaining and enhancing the relationship between buyer and agent, this is the only tool that can do that," adds Geipel.

According to Geipel, "We've created MobileAgent to empower the home buyer while they are out driving around neighborhoods. We allow the broker to offer a powerful service for the buyers in a channel they could never reach before. It's easy to use in that you don't need a special device (like a Blackberry or Smartphone) or special software that you have to download. We are pleased to partner with Coldwell Banker Diamond in rolling out this technology."

Ford adds, "MobileAgent is the only real estate text messaging search available anywhere. These tools put the Agent and Broker at the forefront of the hottest communication tools we have seen since e-mail."
