RISMEDIA, March 13, 2007-"Fundamentals of Land Brokerage – Land 101" is being offered in several locations throughout Virginia this year for students who want to learn the basics of land brokerage.
Class topics will include the various types of land; the land brokerage process; the importance of the 1031 tax-deferred exchange and how to use it; how to determine market value; what property rights and restrictions are involved; and subdivisions and assemblage. Environmental and regulatory issues for land brokers are also stressed.
Classes are scheduled for Warrenton on March 21-22; Northern Virginia on April 26-27; Christiansburg on April 4-5; Harrisonburg on Sept. 6-7; and Fredericksburg on Oct. 16-17.
This course is required to attain the ALC designation, and is approved for eight hours of real estate related continuing education or six hours of elective post-licensure continuing education credits.
