Realtor.com Creates a Localized Connection Between Agents and Their Prospects and Clients

RISMEDIA, April 30, 2007-Today's online real estate consumers require more than just home listings. They increasingly expect to find detailed community information, school comparisons, local interactive maps, recent home sales and published expert commentary from agents, just to name a few.

REALTOR.com® can now help agents provide home buyers and sellers the type of trusted local information they covet. Just launched, Featured Web site from Realtor.com allows agents to display a level of comprehensive and interactive content that had previously only been found on national real estate sites.

Featured Web site helps consumers with their home and neighborhood selection by providing unique side-by-side comparisons of community features based on such criteria as household income, education levels, population density, climate and the like. The service also offers easy to compare school reports with descriptive maps and test results, according to the company.

"We know how much agents value the ability to customize their site's design to better match their personality and marketing focus. We also learned how challenging it can be to assemble highly relevant local information to ensure that consumers visit the agent's Web site-rather than their competition- again and again," said Errol Samuelson, president of Realtor.com.

Additionally, the service delivers map-based comparisons of recently sold homes, and it provides blogging capabilities, designed to meet the needs of real estate professionals. According to Realtor.com, the ease of use of all these services allows agents to spend more time with clients and less time on their Web site improvements.

Featured Web site also offers agents Internet Data Exchange (IDX) capabilities, where supported by their local MLS. Featured Web site with IDX enhances an agent's personal brand by showcasing the agent's photo and contact information above each and every listing from the local MLS. In addition, clients can quickly and easily receive daily or weekly new property alerts, compare properties side-by-side and view locations on Microsoft® Virtual EarthTM maps.

"With more than six million unique real estate consumers visiting Realtor.com each month, we are excited to offer our customers valuable integration with Realtor.com," said Samuelson.

Now when an agent highlights their listings on Realtor.com with Showcase Listing Enhancements, those same enhancements can be made to automatically appear on the agent's Featured Web site, making it truly low maintenance. This added exposure enables agents who are already marketing on Realtor.com additional ways to differentiate themselves in their offline marketing campaigns and during listing presentations.
