RISMEDIA, August 21, 2007—With more than 300 guests in attendance, Prudential New Jersey Properties proudly hosted their Fifth Annual Golf Invitational earlier this summer at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster to benefit The Sunshine Kids—a non-profit organization committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients across North America.

Former New Jersey Governor Christie Todd Whitman served as the event’s first honorary chairperson and joined other distinguished guests including: Prudential Financial Chairman and CEO, Arthur Ryan; Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services Chairman and CEO, John Van Der Wall; Prudential Real Estate Affiliates President, Laurie Keenan; WCBS-TV meteorologist, John Bolaris; several members of the New Jersey Devils hockey team including Jim Dowd, Brian Rafanalski, Rob Skrlac and assistant coach, John MacLean; and the 2007 National Sunshine Kids Foundation SpokesKid, Nick Reyna. As a result of the day’s golfing, awards dinner, sponsorships, silent auctions and raffles, the event raised $40,000.

“It was a fabulous day. The sky cleared, we were able to complete all 18 holes and we had a wonderful time at the awards dinner,” said Whitman. “As someone who has always been sensitive to causes that assist children with cancer, I have been proud to participate in Pru New Jersey’s golf invitational over the years and meet some of the extraordinary children right here in our area who benefit from the work of The Sunshine Kids organization. The Prudential team has always touched me with the energy and compassion they share for this wonderful cause. I was touched to be the company’s first honorary chairperson for the event and I look forward to supporting many more Pru New Jersey fundraisers in the years to come.”

Since its inception in 2003, Pru New Jersey’s annual golf invitational has raised nearly $200,000 for The Sunshine Kids and boosted the company’s total contributions to nearly half a million dollars in less than seven years. As the foundation of choice for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates nationwide, The Sunshine Kids organization received more than $2.3 million from fundraising efforts throughout the affiliate network in 2006.

“Our annual golf invitational continues to be a great opportunity to raise money and awareness for this exceptional organization,” noted William O. Keleher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Prudential New Jersey Properties. “Thanks to our team of volunteers, each year’s event grows larger and garners more community and company participation. This year, I was really humbled by the spirit of cooperation and commitment among those in our Pru New Jersey family who volunteered countless hours to make our event a success, particularly our event’s founders and co-chairs, Dillon Bryant and Courtney Orlando, and our Sunshine Kids Committee chairperson Patty Bishop and all our office liaisons who work nine months out of every year to make the golf invitational happen. This year was our biggest and best yet thanks to our very special guests and the hundreds of others who donated to this great cause.”
