The Top Schools to Get Your Real Estate License

Print Article Print Article

RISMEDIA, August 21, 2007—The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation has just completed reading, marking and judging hundreds and hundreds of candidates and thousands of essay questions and applications to select the semi-finalists. The names of the top 30 making it through to the final round will be announced on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, an interesting statistic regarding the sixth season of the Real Estate Apprentice national grant program for newly licensed real estate agents was announced by the Foundation today.

According to the Foundation, the top six real estate schools in the country training individuals to become a real estate agent are:

- Champions Real Estate School in Texas
- Career Education Systems in Kansas
- Chicago Association of Realtors in Illinois
- Tying for 4th to 6th position are Gold Coast Schools in Florida, Polley Associates in Pennsylvania and Hogan School of Real Estate in Arizona.

Another telling statistic from the pool of semi-finalist is that 30% have opted to start their career with a non-franchise company while 70% selected a national franchise as their first choice. Among the franchise companies, Keller Williams currently appears to be the most aggressive in recruiting new agents with 23.3% selecting their brand, 13.3% choosing Prudential and RE/MAX and Century 21 each drawing 6.7% of the newly licensed agents. Other companies’ selected by rookies include Coldwell Banker, EXIT Realty, GMAC, Weichert Realtors and Realty Executives.

Similar to the previous five grant periods, during which the Foundation has awarded over $2.5 million in grants, education, products and services, this season was also dominated by women. However, with a stronger showing than in season V where the men only made up 20% of the semi-finalists, this time they represent 26.7% of the total. With 73.3 of the semi-finalist being female, the odds are in their favor to once again take home the top grant of $70,000.
