From September 18 to December 14, 2007, The 12th Annual Webby Awards will accept entries for the Best Real Estate Site of the year. Last year, Bankside 123 took home the top real estate prize at The 11th Annual Webby Awards on June 5, 2007. Nominees included Corcoran, NYTimes.com Real Estate, RealEstateJournal.com, The Wall Street Journal’s guide to property, and Yahoo! Real Estate.
“The real estate industry is doing some of the most interesting and innovative work on the Internet today,” said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of the Webby Awards. “The Webby Awards is an exciting opportunity for real estate industry leaders to share the stage and international spotlight with some of the world’s leading Internet luminaries and innovators.”
Hailed as the “Oscars of the Internet” by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile Websites.
The 11th Annual Webby Awards received a record 8,000 entries from over 60 countries. The awards season was capped by a star-studded June gala showcasing an influential group of Internet luminaries including YouTube Founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, rock legend David Bowie, eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and Beastie Boys.
The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include Vinton Cerf, R/GA’s Chief Bob Greenberg, “Simpson’s” creator Matt Groening, Arianna Huffington, and Harvey Weinstein.

Real Estate industry sites can also enter in interactive advertising categories and feature categories such as Best Navigation and Best Copy Writing. Nominees will be announced in April and winners will be honored at the gala ceremony in June 2008. In keeping with Webby tradition, all winners’ speeches are limited to just five words.
