The convention is bringing together approximately 900 real estate sales associates, brokers, loan officers, mortgage brokers, title officers, escrow officers and appraisers from diverse cultural backgrounds to exchange ideas and strategies about increasing Hispanic home ownership. Realogy has sponsored NAHREP’s annual convention since the first convention seven years ago.
Between 1990 and 2004, the number of Hispanics in rural areas nearly doubled. With their higher rate of immigration and natural increase, Hispanic households will contribute a remarkable 35% of the 14.6 million projected new households in 2005-2015, according to the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University’s State of the Nation’s Housing 2007 Report.
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, a non-profit 501c6 trade association, is dedicated to increasing the homeownership rate among Latinos by educating and empowering the real estate professionals that serve them. Based in Washington D.C., NAHREP is the premier trade organization for Hispanics and has nearly 15,000 members in 48 states and 56 affiliate chapters.
