HomesByOwner.com Names New Branded Publishers

RISMEDIA, Oct. 24, 2007-HomesByOwner.com, a national network of local For Sale By Owner Web sites, recently announced five new HomesByOwner.com-branded publishers.

These publishers will produce monthly magazines under the HomesByOwner name and join existing publishers in Detroit, Mich.; Portland, Ore.; and New Orleans, La. New HomesByOwner.com magazine locations are Northwest Indiana; Wilmington, N.C.; Fayetteville, Ark.; Madison, Wis.; and Oklahoma City, Okla.

“HomesByOwner.com empowers local FSBO magazine publishers like these to own a ‘For Sale By Owner’ business and provides them with the technology and large-scale marketing muscle they need to be successful,” said company partner Wayne Strobel. “We’re based on a local ownership model. To us, it just made sense to have local companies servicing sellers’ needs, offering customers national exposure with local experts.”

Publishers are also granted exclusive rights to their territory on the HomesByOwner.com national Web site. Information on homes featured in HomesByOwner magazines will also be available on the site to provide maximum exposure for sellers.

“We’ve been offering this branding option for a little more than a year, but the concept of granting exclusive rights to local companies has long been the foundation of HomesByOwner.com,” Strobel said. “All our affiliates – branded and not branded – receive the same exclusive rights.”

HomesByOwner.com is not a franchise; the site is provided at a low monthly fee to licensees, or affiliates, which typically include publishers, mortgage brokers, reduced-rate real estate brokers and entrepreneurs. The site is present in more than 685 metropolitan areas across the United States, and it has almost 200 sites locally owned and managed. The company expanded to Canada in February 2007.
