RISMEDIA, Nov. 3, 2007-While this past weekend spurred some confusion among some of our electronic devices, this weekend officially is the time to turn back the clock.
The official kickoff to this Fall’s Daylight Saving Time, (commonly referred to as “Daylight Savings Time” or DST) will begin at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 4.
This date change occurred in 2005 when President Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005, changing the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. This is the first year DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end the first Sunday in November.
2:00 a.m. was originally chosen because it was the most practical and minimized disruption. Most people were at home and it is late enough to minimally affect bars and restaurants.
