Orlando Regional Realtor® Association Inaugurates New President

RISMEDIA, Nov. 6, 2007-The Orlando Regional Realtor® Association has inducted Steve Moreira, CCIM, Magic Properties and Investments, as the 2007 – 2008 president of the 12,500-member organization.

ORRA members, family, and friends attended the ceremony at Maison & Jardin, congratulating Moreira and his leadership team of President-elect Les Simmonds, Simmonds Real Estate Corp., and Vice President Kathleen Gallagher-McIver, RE/MAX Town & Country Realty. Moreira replaces Immediate Past President Randy Martin, RE/MAX 200 Realty.

“ORRA has been serving members since 1921, and our generations have survived the depression, wars, hurricanes, and booms and busts of every kind,” says Moreira. “Our business has gone from hand-written contracts to Adobe Acrobat. A one- to two-year decline in the market is a blip on the radar screen of life in the real estate business. Together we will get through this and be better than ever.”

Moriera’s objectives for the following year include focusing on ORRA’s communications and education functions plus improving its member service procedures. He plans to add additional accounting processes to ensure the association’s financial diligence, along with allocating funds to step up ORRA’s advertising and public relations initiatives that seek to stimulate buyers and promote the Realtor® image.

Particularly high on the new president’s to-do list is the creation of an education committee charged with developing classes that help new agents secure the skills they need to survive a market downturn, and that give seasoned professionals the opportunity to re-evaluate their existing skills and add new tools to increase their professionalism.
