RISMEDIA, August 1, 2007—RE/MAX agents can now take on-line courses that count toward their CRS designation at their own pace. This great convenience is the result of a special agreement between RE/MAX University and the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS), the first such partnership CRS has entered into after 30 years of traditional classroom instruction.
“We’re very pleased to offer these CRS eLearning courses as part of our newly created RE/MAX University curriculum,” said Educational Director of the RE/MAX Satellite Network, Keith Katte. “We think on-line delivery is perfect for busy agents, who have a hard time fitting such courses into their schedules otherwise.”
Nina Cottrell, Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Residential Specialists also believes this technological partnership is beneficial, “CRS is excited about partnering with RE/MAX to deliver our courses online. It’s a timely and innovative way for RE/MAX to support their agents’ productivity and profitability.”
The two courses now available on-line are “Creating Value for Your Clients,” and “Putting Technology to Work for Your Clients.” The creating value course includes topics like developing a business plan and negotiating skills, while the technology courses deals with using Web sites and virtual assistants. Both courses feature numerous real world situations and contain multi-media elements like color graphics and audio clips to reinforce the content.
On-line students have 45 days to complete each course, but for the ambitious, an eLearning course can be completed in about six to eight hours. The registration fee is $99 and $149, but agents who hold the CRS designation earn four times the income of agents who don’t. The CRS designation is held by less than four percent of all real estate agents.
