Old Republic National Title Insurance Company Acquires American-First Abstract Company

RISMEDIA, March 4, 2008-Mark Bilbrey, SVP & COO of the Central Title Group of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, announced the acquisition of American-First Abstract Company effective this week. American-First has been owned and operated by the Harold Cox family since 1969. American-First, is located in Norman, Oklahoma and serves Cleveland County. The company is a full service abstract and title company providing abstract, title insurance, real estate and mortgage loan settlement services to the Norman area.

Bilbrey stated, “The combination of American-First with our existing offices of American Guaranty Title Company will strengthen our position in central Oklahoma and allow us to provide expanded services to our customers in this area. I have known Harold Cox and his family for many years and am very proud to have American-First and their employees join the Old Republic family of companies.”

Carla Hawkins, who will remain president of American-First, said, “We are excited about our new alliance with such a reputable title insurance leader and look forward to working closely with American Guaranty and Old Republic.”
