Your Business – Think Insurance for Agents Is Impossible?

Print Article Print Article

RISMEDIA, March 19, 2008-It is estimated that one out of every three real estate agents in the U.S. works without the benefit of health insurance coverage. Now agents have new options to manage their cash flow and have their health insurance premiums paid by eCommission’s Premium Coverage Plan.

Committing to monthly insurance premiums is often cited as a concern due to the unpredictable cash flows of most commissioned sales people. To solve this problem, eCommission, a provider of commission financing solutions to agents, now offers Premium Coverage Plan. According to the company, the service automatically pays the monthly insurance premiums on the agent’s behalf directly to their insurance provider, up to an established cap amount.

As agents close future sales, adjustments are made to their net commissions to repay eCommission the amount of premiums that have been covered. The service is designed to offer agents true peace of mind knowing they will never have a lapse in health coverage and their families will always stay insured, regardless of any irregular commission income cycles.

“In a tough market like we have now, agents are finding themselves stretched further between closings,” explained Sean Whaling, president of eCommission. “This often forces them to ignore or eliminate health insurance. In most cases, the problem isn’t that agents can’t afford to pay their premiums. They are just worried about committing to recurring payments because the market is making everyone less certain about when they’ll close their next sale. So we took the worry out of the equation by paying agents’ premiums on their due date and we get repaid when they close a future sale.”

The Premium Coverage Plan has already begun helping real estate agents cover their monthly insurance premiums and eCommission has partnered with AFID, LLC on major medical programs. More and more real estate agents are beginning to sign up and use this service as a way to provide consistent insurance coverage for themselves and their families.

“We’re really glad to have this program with eCommission in place for our real estate clients.” said Tannile Ortiz, director of Operations at AFID. “It should give agents the comfort to enroll in the health product of their choice without worrying about having consistent cash flow.”
