RISMEDIA, March 24, 2008-There won’t be any yelling, push-ups or obstacle courses, but Billy Carmen, CEO of Wizard Industries, Inc., promises new inventors will walk out of his ‘boot camp’ more prepared to introduce their invention to the world. Carmen, the quasi-drill sergeant, is offering a two-day training/think tank workshop for amateur inventors on how to effectively develop, market and sell their new product.
“Product invention is a sink or swim industry – you have to possess the proper tools and knowledge to achieve success. With this boot camp, my intention is to educate new inventors on areas that are vital reaching their goals,” Carmen said. “It is so common for someone to invent a product that is highly unique and marketable, but they are completely unaware of how to go about manufacturing and publicizing the product. This training session will help prepare individuals for launching their innovation.”
The two day weekend training session takes place in Glendale, California and includes an overnight stay at Courtyard by Marriott along with meals hosted by the Carmen’s. The think-tank workshop will cover the following areas:
- Product/Invention evaluation to establish consulting and service needs
- Discussions for determining goals and approaches for product’s success
- Product development
- Product manufacturing sourcing and quoting
- Packaging development; merchandising planning
- Marketing development
- PR development
- Online strategy development
- Video interview, video demonstration of product
According to the company, Wizard Industries, a manufacturing and marketing company for innovative products designed by amateur inventors, not only works almost exclusively with the personal business sector, but is a personal business itself. Formed by Billy and Julie Carmen in 1999, Wizard Industries works with new inventors to get their products patented, manufactured, distributed and marketed – all from the Carmen’s Southern California home.
