RISMEDIA, March 27, 2008-On April 12, Barbara A. Reynolds, president of Realty One Real Living will be receiving a hero award for her passion and support of children and families throughout her community. Aside from her incredible business profile, Reynolds along with her team at Realty One/ Real Living, has spearheaded and launched an outreach program on behalf of Wigs for Kids with a Realty One/Wigs for Kids holiday ornament for the last two years. She has also been a sponsor of the Wigs for Kids Gala events for the past two years. barb1.jpg

The 28th Annual Hero Awards Gala and Silent Auction will take place at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel in downtown Cleveland, in support of Wigs for Kids, a non-profit organization providing complimentary hair replacement systems for children 18 years of age and younger who have lost their hair due to medical circumstances, chemotherapy, radiation, burns and alopecia.

Barbara’s dedication to encouraging and inspiring others to make a difference, in addition to her compassion for children, has earned her the Wigs for Kids Adult Hero of Distinction Award for 2008.

Her model of giving back to the community is how we can all earn to live life in a way that will make our world a better place for our children – our future.

“To see the face of a child when they get their new hair piece is priceless,” said Susan Yaroma-Ross, executive director of Wigs for Kids. “If we can remove the burden of their illness for a while, by allowing them to look themselves and live their lives again; it is an incredible feeling,” she said.

According to the organization, through the generosity of companies, individuals, groups and foundations, Wigs for Kids can continue to provide human hair systems at no charge to clients who would otherwise not be able to afford them. The cost per system is over $1,800 and utilizes over 20 human hair ponytails. Wigs for Kids is funded solely through donations and receives no government funding.

The organization will also recognize a Young Hero Award Recipient – Teeba Furat Fadhil from Iraq who was severely burned in a bombing incident. At the young age of 6 she has overcome so much, and inspires many.

The cost for the event is $250 per ticket ($120 tax deductible) which includes: refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, silent auction. For those who wish to purchase a table, the cost is $3,000 per table ($1,200 tax deductible) which includes name/logo recognition on Gala materials including event program (payment and reservation by March 28th), one quarter-page ad in event program (Deadline for Ad and payment 3-26) and one reserved dinner table for 10.
