Diane Turton Named One of NJ’s Most Successful Business Owners

RISMEDIA, April 15, 2008-Diane Turton, who always believed that a career in real estate offered her limitless opportunities, was selected by the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) as one of 30 most successful women entrepreneurs in the Garden State.

The NJAWBO 30 was created as part of the organization’s 30th anniversary celebration and honorees were recognized at a recent installation luncheon.

The business leaders who were named to the NJAWBO 30 are focused, persistent, tenacious and successful. Each member of the group runs a company, has an active family life and contributes to the communities where they live and work. In addition, they serve as role models and resources by coaching, mentoring and encouraging women, said Paula Gould, the organization’s executive director.

Chosen by an independent panel of judges, the business owners lead companies in a range of industries, fields and professions. The list includes firms in accounting, automotive repair, construction, law, mechanical engineering, printing and technology. Members of the NJAWBO 30 operate significant, durable and sustainable businesses that have endured changing market conditions and withstood the test of time.

“In every sense these 30 women in business are hallmarks of success,” said Rosemarie I. Strawn, president of NJAWBO and founder of Positive Actions, which provides business training seminars. “While they have achieved much, each member of the NJAWBO 30 remains accessible to working women who are striving to reach their potential in business.”

For example, Turton, who started selling homes on the Jersey Shore while still in college, works closely with the sales associates at her firm. Since Turton started the firm in 1986, she has recruited, trained and led a dedicated, professional and experienced sales force that now includes 500 agents. Together, they produced $1 billion worth of closed sales during 2007.

According to NJBIZ, the State’s weekly business newspaper, Diane Turton, Realtors is the number one women-owned business in the New Jersey based on the company’s annual sales.
