RISMEDIA, September 3, 2008-More and more real estate agents are working with distressed sellers who can benefit from short sales. When a client owes more money on a home than its worth-a growing predicament for homeowners across the nation-they require special attention from their agent, to guide them through the short sale process. Brett Jennings, today’s featured Realtor on the Rise, realized this back in the spring of ‘07 when short sales were no longer perceived as a passing fad. Here, meet Jennings and learn what he credits to his rising success.

Success source: Jennings credits his rising success to three things-his mindset, work ethic and a sincere desire to serve and contribute to others.
Educating clients: Jennings teaches a free class on short sales.
In the spring of 2007, when short sales started showing up on the scene, Jennings quickly realized that these distressed sellers weren’t just a passing fad but were a growing segment of the market that needed help from qualified agents who understood the risks of foreclosure. He made a decision at that point to not only master this segment of the market, but to make sure other agents also were informed. In September 2007, he became a certified short sale and pre-foreclosure specialist.
