Friday’s Featured Listing – Rock and Roll Roots with a Modern Mountain Tune

Print Article Print Article

RISMEDIA, Sept. 12, 2008-A recent Chase International listing melds classic rock and roll roots with a modern mountain design tune. Originally owned by Creedence Clearwater Revival drummer Doug Clifford, this 6,400 square-foot home was totally remodeled in 2006 by the current owners.

“Situated at the end of a cul-de-sac and surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land, this property truly epitomizes Lake Tahoe grandeur and privacy,” said Debbie Hansen, the Chase International listing agent.

Clifford built the home in 1980 and lived there while raising three children. Although it’s totally revamped now, rock and roll elements remain. Case in point is rocker Clifford’s music studio-where he worked on Creedence Clearwater Revisited pieces-which is still in place at the property.

Under new ownership, the residence recently underwent its own revival. Located on a .85 acre lot, the 3-story home features interior cathedral ceilings and jaw-dropping views of Big Blue from virtually every room.

“Every space on Earth can be a venue for art, whether functional or simply visceral and captivating,” Foster explained in his design website.

Indeed, the home’s design closely partners with its natural surroundings from the bedrooms’ 180-degree views of Lake Tahoe to the 1,700 square feet of outdoor decking, surrounding the entire main house and upstairs game room.

The 1,000-square-foot master suite features a fireplace, steam shower, Jacuzzi tub, built-ins and a huge walk-in closet. On the next level, a professional gourmet kitchen offers top of the line stainless steel appliances, two dishwashers, warming drawers and large walk-in pantry. Other high-end features include a 200 square-foot wine cellar with a separate ventilation system and a 1,000 square-foot recreation room.

Outside, a large lush lawn, a pond and waterfall reprises the property’s natural Tahoe vibe.

Headquartered in Lake Tahoe, Nevada since 1986, Chase International has eight offices in the region (Squaw Valley, Zephyr Cove, Glenbrook, Incline Village, Tahoe City, Truckee, South Lake Tahoe and Reno) and one in London. Chase and its exclusive affiliations handle a large share of the nation’s property. Currently Chase International has one of the top five most expensive properties ever listed in the nation – Tranquility located at Lake Tahoe, for $100 million.
