RISMEDIA, September 29, 2008-Proxio, the company offering an international MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and global real estate network for professionals, ProxioPro, announced Friday a registration milestone with over 1,000 real estate offices and over 50,000 listings on site since its July 2008 U.S. debut.
Virtually every U.S. real estate agent uses a MLS as an indispensable tool to share listings and data with other agents in their local market to better serve clients’ needs. According to the company, Proxio extends local MLS services into the global community with its international MLS, providing essential services to foreign agencies and enabling agents everywhere to connect with each other for business purposes.
Through the ProxioPro professional network, agents from the U.S. and 34 other countries are able to share information, view listings and make referrals online. Agencies can upload their property listings on ProxioPro, giving them instant international exposure in six languages. Proxio’s patent-pending privacy components provide the added control that cultural differences or varying international real estate practices sometimes require, the company reports.
“The soft housing market has spurred the most creative real estate agents everywhere to find better ways to market themselves,” said Janet Case, Proxio’s co-founder and CEO. “Agents are using ProxioPro as an international marketing tool, gaining exposure and expanding their addressable markets and business referral networks. We feel we have hit a nerve in the industry and our 1,000 office registration milestone is testament to this.”
Florida real estate broker Carla Rayman said, “Proxio is filling a huge hole in our industry. Until now there has been no effective method to market ourselves and our properties internationally. We know for a fact that there is a big potential market out there with foreign buyers, but there is no systematic way to reach them. My listings now appear on ProxioPro in six different languages and I am able to meet other agents and build my referral network around the globe without leaving the office.”
Commenting on Proxio’s technology pedigree, Proxio CTO and co-founder, Peter Spicer said, “We’ve put our combined 40 years of real estate and MLS experience behind our technology to create a remarkable marketing tool that is the first to open up international real estate markets. ProxioPro is simple for foreign agents to adopt, yet is very sophisticated with its privacy layers, to easily satisfy varying market and cultural differences. With our current milestone in mind, Proxio is now in development on premium resources to further serve real estate agents.”
Proxio will be rolling out additional features later this year, including individual agent sites in multiple languages, premium placement for listings, syndication to global websites, and virtual tours and videos.
