50 Days of Leaders - ‘Educators First, Salespeople Second’

RISMEDIA, Oct. 10, 2008-While today’s featured Realtor on the Rise has the advantage to have been a college professor prior to launching her real estate career, her real estate best practice is something she feels all should embrace. According to Marjorie Williams, “We are educators first, salespeople second.”

Previously: Williams was a college professor.

According to Williams, “We are educators first, salespeople second. Buyers are afraid of making the wrong decision, and sellers are still expecting to ‘make money’ on the sale of their homes.” She says working with buyers requires more hand-holding now and an accelerated effort to help them make good investments. “Our market is stronger in general than most, so I often show the buyers local numbers versus the national numbers.”

Each day RISMedia is proud to introduce you to one of our 50 Realtors on the Rise for 2008, chosen by the editors of Real Estate magazine and selected from hundreds of entries. We congratulate this year’s winners for stepping out of the box, bringing a new outlook and charging ahead through the changed real estate space.
