Realty Executives Broker Pat Callan Installed as President of the Illinois Association of Realtors

RISMEDIA, Nov. 7, 2008-Pat Callan, broker/owner of Realty Executives Premiere in Wheaton, Ill., was recently installed as the 2009 president of the Illinois Association of Realtors, the organization has announced.

“It is an honor to be a part of this organization,” Callan said. “And now, as president, I hope to continue to be able to learn and grow in my experience as an active member of such a professional organization, offering my expertise as a leader when I can and gaining insight from my peers as well.”

Callan, who has been active in real estate for 37 years, has been broker/owner of Realty Executives Premiere focusing on the sale and lease of residential and commercial real estate for 15 years. Prior to joining Realty Executives in 1993, Callan served as the executive vice president and CFO for CMD Corporation, an office building and business park developer. He has been a Certified Public Accountant for 36 years and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Callan is a past president of the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe) and was named Realtor of the Year by the association in 2006. He has held leadership positions for the local association for more than a decade including chair of the facility task force and strategic planning task forces.

On the statewide level, Callan has served on the IAR board of directors since 2000, working on several committees. He has served on the National Association of Realtors Federal Taxation Committee, Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee and the NAR Board of Directors.

Installation ceremonies were conducted at the Illinois Association of Realtors Convention in September. The Illinois Association of Realtors is a voluntary trade association whose 55,000 members are engaged in all facets of the real estate industry. In addition to serving the professional needs of its members, the Illinois Association of Realtors works to protect the rights of private property owners in the state.
