RISMEDIA, July 28, 2010—The Real Estate Investment Securities Association (REISA) will hold its 2010 Annual Conference October 17-19, 2010 at the Paris Resort in Las Vegas. REISA’s Conference brings together leading real estate securities professionals including sponsors, broker-dealers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), registered representatives, financial advisors, qualified intermediaries, attorneys, CPAs, lenders, custodians, mortgage brokers and other industry related professionals for one-of-a kind networking and educational opportunities.
“We are working through one of the most drastically changing times in the real estate industry, and now, more than ever before, it is vitally important for industry professionals to connect with others and expand their knowledge,” said Rick Chess, REISA President. “Conference attendees will learn new practice management strategies, current regulatory and legislative updates and the products being offered in the market.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive educational sessions and hear leading industry experts discuss new trends with alternative investment products and techniques on how to maximize business development and sales. Sessions will cover practice management strategies, product development for Regulation D funds, REITs, TICs, DSTs, energy programs, notes, debentures and more and the latest regulatory developments including how the regulatory reform bill affects businesses. In addition to these educational sessions, attendees will also be able to attend new, closed-door sessions for broker-dealers, registered reps, sponsors and wholesalers where they can discuss with their peers current industry issues and ideas to overcome these.
Keynote speakers for this year’s conference include real estate economist Dr. Mark Dotzour. Dotzour is the chief economist and director of research for the real estate center at Texas A&M University. Dotzour will present an outlook for the economy and answer looming questions as the U.S. economy switches from unbridled capitalism to heavy government regulation. Representatives from NASAA and FINRA will also be at the conference to answer questions.
