RISMEDIA, December 22, 2010—During Diane Turton, Realtors’ sixth annual Turton Giving Tree project, the company collected unwrapped toys and gifts for local children who are in need as well as monetary donations that will go towards feeding needy families in the area, the company announced.
“Giving trees” were placed in each of the company’s sales offices throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The trees were decorated with ornaments containing information about gifts that children have requested this holiday season. Gifts were then collected from the general public as well as from Diane Turton, Realtors’ agents, managers and staff and given to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County.
Additional ornaments on the tree were created by children for the Mercy Center of Asbury Park. The monetary donations will go towards funding projects including full day of meals for school children, parenting classes, heat assistance and family groceries.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County is very grateful for the kindness and generosity of Diane Turton and her employees,” said Sue Sedivec, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County. “They have provided many of our children with beautiful presents for Christmas. The presents will be given to the families and they will be placed under the tree for the children to open on Christmas morning. Diane Turton, Realtors has truly made a difference in the children’s lives and has put smiles on their faces. We cannot thank her enough for her continued support of our agency and belief in our mission.”
