One of the easiest ways to get into video marketing is often staring you right in the face. It’s your webcam! The video quality is usually quite acceptable, and you won’t have to worry about setting up expensive cameras, mics, and professional lighting. In fact, webcams are great for both solo presentations as well as interviews. Grant Crowell of ReelSEO and Susan Bratton of Personal Life Media recently teamed up to offer several useful suggestions for webcam marketing.
First, watch your timing. Make the intro quick and to the point, and remember that anything over two to three minutes is probably too long. Next, don’t read from a script. Use talking points on a cue card instead to make sure the bases are covered. It’s also important to be helpful with your content by giving viewers so called “take-aways” they can use right away. If you’re interviewing a guest, make certain to prep them, and remind them to keep their answers short and focused. Testimonials also make great content as well, but keep in mind that in all cases, it never hurts to do a few practice runs. Remember, webcam marketing can be easy and effective. The secret is to plan ahead for concise content that’s short, sweet, and interesting for the viewer.
