J. Rockcliff REALTORS’ Torrey Team Holds Record-Setting 23rd Annual Northgate Neighborhood Garage Sale

J. Rockcliff REALTORS®, an East Bay’s residential real estate firm, has announced that the “Torrey Team,” consisting of Realtors Pete Torrey, Zack Torrey and Andrea Torrey, celebrated their 23rd annual Northgate Neighborhood Garage Sale on July 14, 2012 with record-setting participation, attendance and fundraising.

More than 100 homes participated in the annual neighborhood tradition and unofficial estimates place attendance upwards of 1,000 people. In addition to offering a vast selection of items for sale, the event also served as a fundraiser for the Northgate High School chapter of Kiva. Kiva is a non-profit organization with the mission to connect people through lending money to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world. The Northgate Neighborhood Garage Sale helped Kiva raise more than $300.

“Kiva has a unique model, and an incredibly important mission,” says Pete Torrey. “We were proud to partner with them this year and to not only help them raise funds but to create additional awareness of what the organization does and why it is critical. It’s gratifying that the community is so supportive of this event. We’re looking forward to even greater success next year.”
