New England Home Sales Increase 5.7 Percent

Election cycles tend to lower consumer confidence, according to RE/MAX of New England Executive Vice President & Regional Director Dan Breault, resulting in slower home sales.
In Connecticut, the number of homes sold year-over-year ticked up by 2.0 percent, while the median price dipped -2.9 percent.
In Massachusetts, year-over-year home sales increased 5.7 percent while the median price remained flat at $285,000.
In New Hampshire experienced a 9.6 percent increase in home sales year-over-year and the median price increased 2.7 percent.
Rhode Island once again posted the largest year-over-year increase in New England, with home sales up 17.4 percent.
Year-over-year home sales in Vermont dipped -2.5 percent, but the median price ticked up 0.2 percent.
