More than 20 wounded warriors and hundreds of community members participated in the 2012 McLean 5K Run with the Warriors in McLean, VA, to help provide injured veterans with a comfortable place to live during their recovery. The race, co-hosted by CENTURY 21 New Millennium, benefitted the Wounded Warrior Transitional Housing Project, an initiative to renovate apartments that will serve as transitional housing for injured service members discharged from inpatient care at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, the company has announced.
Retired Navy Rear Adm. Kathleen L. Martin, executive director and CEO of Vinson Hall said, “These wounded warriors have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom. They deserve to live in a place that will support their healing and help them toward a full recovery. I truly believe the newly renovated apartments at Vinson Hall can accomplish that.”
The race took place Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8 a.m. CENTURY 21 New Millennium is a proud co-host of the event. The dedication of the company’s agents and employees to the community is evident in their strong support for the cause. CEO Todd Hetherington says that supporting the cause aligns well with the company’s mission.
“Just as our agents are committed to finding the best homes for our clients, we are committed to making sure our wounded warriors receive the housing they so deserve,” says Todd Hetherington.
“Serving our communities is an important part of what our agents do and it is truly humbling to see the incredible response from friends and clients to this and to New Millennium’s other outreach campaigns,” adds CENTURY 21 New Millennium President, Mary Lynn Stone.
