Next month REALTORS® will gather together in Washington, D.C., at the National Association of Realtors® Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 13-18, to address critical housing issues with their members of Congress. More than 9,000 participants from across the country are expected to attend meetings and visit lawmakers on Capitol Hill to engage on private property rights, homeownership and housing issues.
REALTORS® will hear firsthand the latest updates on the legislative and regulatory issues affecting today’s real estate industry. Key legislators, federal agency representatives and top industry executives will address attendees at several sessions during the meetings. Realtors® will meet with regulators, industry leaders, and members of Congress to address issues like homeownership and real estate investment tax policies, the impact of regulations on the mortgage finance market, the commercial real estate market, measures to ensure the future availability of affordable mortgage financing, and outlooks for real estate markets and the economy.

NAR’s Chief Economist Lawrence Yun will share the latest outlook for residential real estate during the Economic Issues & Residential Real Estate Business Trends Forum on Thursday, May 16, 8-10 a.m. in the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Marriott Ballroom Salon 2. Later on Thursday from 1-3 p.m., Yun will provide an overview of the national commercial market and forecast future market conditions at the Economic Issues & Commercial Business Trends Forum at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Ambassador Room.
The Trade Expo will be open on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. More than 125 exhibitors will demonstrate the latest real estate industry innovations and explain how these are transforming the way REALTORS® do business.
