The Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® is proving the saying is true, “All real estate is local.” The EBCBOR Global Business Council recently hosted a “Day of Global Business” at the EBCBOR Headquarters, which featured four expert sessions on topics ranging from staging for international clients, Islamic funding, global business and marketing strategy and the impact of association connection and networking to grow your global business.
EBCBOR welcomed industry professionals: Bernadette Flaim, Founder/Principal Designer THE FLAIM GROUP LLC; Wesam Berjaoui, East Coast Regional Manager University Islamic Finance; Zola Szerencses CIPS, e-PRO, TRC, AHWD 2013 NAR Regional Coordinator Eastern Europe; and Barbara H. Schmerzler, ABR, AHWD, CIPS, CRB, President of U.S. HOMEFINDERS®, INC. and NAR Regional Coordinator for Western Europe, South Africa, and Israel. Event attendees participated in back-to-back educational seminars and workshops.
“‘A Global Day of Business’ focused on current local and global industry needs; foreign buyers are recognizing our country’s advantageous market conditions,” said EBCBOR Director and Global Business Council Chair Ali Memar, CIPS. “Foreign buyers understand the value of owning a home in the U.S. and can rely on a REALTOR® to help guide them through the often complex buying process. Research shows that many recent immigrants view owning a home as an important accomplishment that brings stability, security and a sense of community.”
EBCBOR CEO Laura Rubinfeld said, “According to the National Association of Realtors®’ 2012 Profile of International Home Buying Activity, international purchases within the U.S. increased over the past year, as real estate in this country remains very attractive to foreign buyers. Our Association acknowledges the diversity of our membership as a consumer resource and is working to expose our member to latest in global real estate news and business techniques.”
The day culminated with over 50 REALTORS® gathering for an evening networking reception at Crown Restaurant and Lounge in Palisades Park.
