This is the first thing that people will see on your page and since it’s so noticeable, whether you’re using Facebook to generate leads, close your next sale, or create a customer community, knowing how to make an effective cover photo is crucial.

One idea is to mash up a number of photos and create a visual display of different properties you’re offering or perhaps key locations in the community.

Facebook now allows cover photos to use call-to-action links, which means you can promote webinars, ebooks, or any free downloads you may want to get out to customers.

Since your profile picture is on the left, you want to balance your cover photo design by having the focus of the image be in the center or the right.

Another good idea is to change your Facebook cover photo every two weeks so people will want to come back and see what new and creative look you have added.
