In fact, this is what ultimately led to Schutt’s decision to incorporate DocuSign into his real estate business six years ago. “One of my seller clients was driving across the country to pick up her son, and the buyer for the listing had said, ‘we need this signed immediately, or we’re walking away.’ I jumped online, found DocuSign and sent the paperwork off to the client—who wasn’t exactly tech-savvy—and it was completed and back in my inbox within seven minutes.”

“Consumers are used to performing so many functions on the Internet via their mobile devices that they expect to be able to sign a real estate contract the same way,” says Ebersole.

While buying or selling a home can be a challenging proposition, managing expectations is the name of the game. “We strive to give each client the best experience possible,” says Kjellgren. “Thanks to DocuSign and Cartavi we’re able to eliminate the pain points and wild cards that so often define a real estate transaction.” In fact, Kjellgren and her team have gone one step further by changing their buyer and seller presentations to truly show how these two platforms make the process more organized and smooth for everyone involved.

Keeping up with the trend toward conducting business digitally is something real estate professionals can’t afford to overlook. Buyers and sellers are coming to expect that their agent take advantage of these progressive tools as part of their service to their clients.

“Every client experience I’ve heard of where DocuSign and Cartavi have been used to manage the transaction and digitally sign documents, has been very positive,” says Ebersole, who sees the trend of conducting real estate digitally continuing to grow. “Our agents are now taking just their iPad or laptop on listing appointments and digitally signing while sitting at the proverbial kitchen table, providing a more elegant and streamlined process for the client and the agent.”

“We haven’t had to force feed our agents to incorporate DocuSign and Cartavi into their day-to-day business routines,” says Kjellgren. “Once they see how easy and organized it makes life, they’re on board.”

Combining both DocuSign and Cartavi into one, single product is next on the agenda, a process that’s already well underway. For real estate professionals, the new DocuSign for REALTORS® platform—as well as an upcoming broker release—are sure to have a huge impact on the digital trend that’s taking the industry by storm.
