Brown Dog Realty, a highly specialized real estate group focused on serving the area’s First Responders, has joined HUNT Real Estate ERA’s Columbus Division. Due to the unique time constraints and 24-hour shifts of police officers, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics and other healthcare professionals, these service providers need extra support when looking to buy or sell their home. The real estate sales associates with Brown Dog Realty have been successfully servicing this clientele for the past three years, and will continue to do so as part of HUNT Real Estate ERA Columbus Division’s Webster branch.
The Brown Dog Realty team is led by Syed Ahmed Mustafa, a licensed Associate Real Estate Broker with ten years of real estate experience. Mustafa is also a Lieutenant in a local fire department; he serves as a paramedic and vice-president of the Board of Directors of Northeast Quadrant Advanced Life Support and has been involved in fire/EMS for 23 years. He has been credited with numerous saves, recognized by the state for his response to 9/11 with the NYS Liberty Award, and has written several articles on EMS for various national magazines. Mustafa has a degree in Political Science and History from the University of Rochester, and received his MBA from the Simon School of Business.
“I am thrilled to have Brown Dog Realty join the HUNT organization, which will allow us to combine our high level of customer service with the vast resources that HUNT has to offer,” says S. Ahmed Mustafa. “Our clients, who are family, friends and colleagues, will now have a one-stop real estate solution, saving them valuable time and making the transaction process easy,” Mustafa continues.
A unique distinction of this specialized real estate team is the fact that they donate at least $100 from every transaction to a fire, EMS or police agency in the area where they complete the real estate deal. They are the only real estate group that donates to a first response organization in the town where they close a transaction, and they have proudly donated to a number of Rochester area departments over the years. This philanthropic commitment will be continued under the HUNT ERA Columbus Division organization.
Mustafa co-founded Brown Dog Realty in 2010 with his wife, Karen, a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with a degree in Elementary Education and English Literature from SUNY Potsdam. Other team members include Charles Schallhorn, a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkley and a Kodak Fellow, and Ashley Zeiner, also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Together, this team has a combined 20 plus years of real estate experience.
