“The Museum’s mission is to connect the past, present and future of this great city, and nothing has changed the conversation about the city’s – and region’s – future more than this storm,” Henshaw Jones says. “So it is important to bring together compelling images that not only document its history but that demonstrate how we responded and rebuilt, so we, as a city, can learn and grow.”
The new Superstorm Sandy exhibition will be curated by Sean Corcoran, the curator of Prints and Photographs for the Museum of the City of New York. Selections will be made by a jury comprised of photography curators and journalists.
Both professional and amateur photographers are invited to submit pictures for consideration. Deadline for entries is 11:59 PM on August 1, 2013. For more information detailing submission requirements, please click here.
