For Las Vegas’ homeless population, extreme heat can be life threatening. Prudential Americana Group recently put its connections to work recently and donated more than 30,000 bottles of water to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
“We regularly support the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and when we saw how the heat affected those that utilize their facility, we wanted to help,” says Mark Stark, CEO of Prudential Americana Group, REALTORS®. “We made it into a fun contest to see which of our offices in Southern Nevada could donate the most water for the mission and they really showed how generous they are. Our office on West Sahara donated 8,370 bottles alone, more than any Prudential office in the valley. And our Northwest office donated an average of 60 bottles per person!” Overall, the company collected 1,177 cases with a total of 30,684 bottles of water.
“All summer long the Las Vegas Rescue Mission tries to do all we can to help those in greatest need – providing a cool place to sleep or get a meal, but also provide cold drinking water for the homeless who have little break from the heat,” says John Fogal, director of development at Las Vegas Rescue Mission. “Prudential’s donation of over 30,000 bottles of water helps us serve so many throughout the summer – we cannot do all that we do each day without this kind of generosity.”
Prudential Americana Group’s 1,100 real estate sales executives and staff gave an average of 35 bottles per person company-wide. Through the company’s partnership with national non-profit Move For Hunger and local moving company Red Carpet Movers, the water was delivered by the truckload to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
