New England’s summer housing market kicked off in high gear according to the RE/MAX of New England June Housing Report. Across the region, the market experienced double-digit growth in the number of units sold month-over-month and year-over-year, and pending sales and home prices are up across the board.
· In Connecticut, the number of total transactions is up 14.6 percent year-over-year, while the median price is up slightly at 0.8 percent.
· Massachusetts experienced an uptick of 15.9 percent in total transactions year-over-year. The median price increased 7.3 percent.
· In New Hampshire, home transactions increased 18.2 percent year-over-year, while the median price jumped 10.1 percent – the second largest price increase in New England behind Rhode Island.
· Rhode Island once again posted the largest year-over-year gains in total home transactions in New England, up 32.2 percent, while median price rose 12.5 percent – the highest in New England.
· Vermont experienced a boost in both total transactions, up 14.8 percent, and median price, up 7.7 percent, year-over-year.
